One of the most powerful Law of Attraction tools we have is pre-paving (or Segment Intending)—the art of setting the energetic tone before a situation happens. Abraham Hicks often says: “You are the creator of your reality, and pre-paving is directing that creation on purpose.” Law of Attraction is always responding to our emotions and vibration of what we are putting out there whether we have awareness or not. Stressed? Life is going to bring you more stress. Finding reasons to have a moment of joy? Life will bring you more moments of joy. Awareness and setting intention for each section of our day is more important than we realize.
Pre-paving is the deliberate act of imagining and feeling into how you want something to go before you get there.
Instead of reacting to life, you softly get out ahead of it.
Every thought you think is pre-paving the future. So you might as well choose thoughts that feel good as you think them.
It’s not about forcing outcomes.
It’s about choosing the emotional atmosphere you want…and letting Law of Attraction match it.
Imagine you’re about to walk into a meeting. Pre-paving is simply pausing for 15 seconds to decide how you want to feel—supported, confident, clear—and then letting the Universe orchestrate the details.
Or:
Think of it as energetically laying out the red carpet for the version of the experience you want.
Choose the vibe before the moment happens.
You’re constantly offering a vibrational signal.
Pre-paving is the practice of:
Becoming aware of your signal
2.Adjusting it before you enter a situation
3. Letting the momentum build in your favor
Pre-paving works because:
That instantly shifts vibration.
And Law of Attraction must respond to the active vibration.
A little momentum can carry you far.
Abraham Hicks says:
“You can get more done in 15 seconds of aligned thought than in hours of action taken from a place of struggle.”
That’s pre-paving.
Just a moment.
A breath.
This interrupts old momentum.
Not “What do I want to happen?”
But “What’s the emotional flavor I want?”
(Examples: clarity, fun, ease, connection, confidence.)
Feel the feeling for at-least 15-30 seconds as you visualize how this hour or two of your day will go.
It should be gentle, not pushy.
Examples:
“I’m looking forward to this going smoothly.”
“I love clarity flowing to me.”
“I like the idea of feeling supported.”
“I’m expecting pleasant surprises.”
Just a 5–10% improvement.
That’s all you need.
Law of Attraction takes it from there.
Drop it.
Go in neutral and let go of the manifestation process and trust that the universe will bring it to you. This means not worrying about when it will happen or how it will happen. Instead, focus on the positive emotions associated with having it already as you continue your day.
“I’m expecting this to be easier than I thought.
I appreciate clarity. I appreciate harmony. I can communicate my needs clearly.
I love that everything works out for me.”
“I like the idea of easy interactions.
I intend to feel ease and happiness for this hour/ segment of my day.
I love feeling productive but relaxed.”
“I’m setting the tone for fun and lightheartedness.
I love being pleasantly surprised.”
“I like the idea of my body responding easily and naturally to the food I feed it. I trust my body to be well, for it is my natural state. I know my body will guide me through my workout.
I’m pre-paving ease.”
If you are worried, don’t force high-flying thoughts.
Instead, gently guide yourself to neutral thoughts, then positive ones. Ease yourself.
“Wouldn’t it be nice if this went smoother than expected?”
“You don’t have to figure it all out right now.”
“You’re doing beautifully.”
This shifts the vibe, which is the whole point of pre-paving.
“I love the feeling of getting out ahead of things.
I love knowing the Universe is already lining things up for me.
I like choosing how I want to feel—before the moment comes.
I love knowing that a tiny shift now creates big ease later.
I like the feeling of being on my own side.
Things always go better when I set my tone.
I love pre-paving. It’s easy. It’s natural. And it works.”
Pre-paving is not about controlling outcomes.
It’s about aligning your energy so that outcomes naturally reflect your intentions & highest good.
Understand:
You don’t need perfect thoughts.
You don’t need long visualization sessions.
You don’t need effort.
Just a gentle nudge of emotion to shift your vibration in the direction of what feels better.

Each moment is an opportunity to choose your emotional tone ahead of time.
By pre- paving the experience of manifesting what you desire, you are aligning your vibration with it and sending a clear message to the universe about what you want. The more you focus on the positive feelings associated with your desire, the faster and easier it will come to you. And with practice, pre-paving becomes second nature— a quiet, joyful way of shaping life from the inside out.
